Performing at Streets Alive! Outdoors
Info for Entertainers, Sports Demonstrations, Fitness Classes
Performing at the Streets Alive! outdoor festival is an opportunity to be a visible part of a free event open to the entire community of Lincoln. We cordon off nearly 2 miles of streets blocked off from traffic so visitors can walk, stroll, skate, bike - any kind of human powered travel along the festival route. Over the years, our attendance has grown to an average of 4,000 during the afternoon and has included more than 100 exhibitors and entertainers.
Streets Alive! is typically an outdoor festival. Our 2020 Streets Alive! event moved online to protect community health. The 2021 Streets Alive! festival was again an outdoor event. The 2023 festival was hosted by the University Place neighborhood on Sunday, September 24. If you have questions or are interested in about performing at Streets Alive! contact us
Health Precautions
When we hold the festival outdoors, we want everyone to enjoy their Streets Alive! experience and feel safe. If conditions warrant, we institute precautions like masking and distancing to protect community health.
Entertainers/Performers
We move the festival around the city every two years, giving entertainers the opportunity to perform for new audiences with each move. We have both street artists and stage artists located through out the route. All kinds of family-friendly entertainment is welcome, including dance troupes, vocal groups, marching bands, clowning, magic shows, puppetry, balloon art, and more.
Sports Demonstrations/ Fitness Classes
Share the love of your sport or fitness activity and attract new enthusiasts. Streets Alive! is a perfect opportunity to show off your stuff to thousands of visitors. Sports organizations. coaches and teams, and trainers can demonstrate their sport and provide safe age and ability participation, if desired. Streets Alive! is all about encouraging physical activity, so we invite experienced and/or credentialed fitness teachers to lead 15 - 30 minute fitness classes, like yoga, zumba, aerobic, stretching, balance, or other fitness activities.
Promote Yourself
Bring people to you and let people know you will be at Streets Alive!
Performance Sites, When to Arrive
Entertainers will have 15 minutes before their performance and 15 minutes after their performance to set up and take down. The stages will be ready, so both should be minimal. Help will be available at volunteer information booths if you need assistance loading and unloading.
Where to Park
The streets following the route will be closed to traffic and parking the day of the event. In order to accommodate everyone in the area on the day of the event, there will be a variety of parking lots available in the vicinity of the route.
