Community Learning Centers work toward being a neighborhood hub that brings schools, youth, families and neighborhoods together to provide opportunities for everyone in the neighborhood to learn, grow, and engage. CLCs connect partners and necessary resources which assist in removing barriers to student learning and development. CLC partners provide core program components: before school, after school and summer opportunities, parent engagement, health services, behavioral health, neighborhood activities, and much more. The simple reality of CLCs is that no two look alike – each one is unique. Through strong school community partnerships CLCs are responsive to the needs and asks of students, families and their neighborhoods. The Lincoln CLC initiative is currently serving 29 schools, including 20 elementary schools, 6 middle schools, and 3 high schools.
